About V.Fisher

From Bulgaria to Britain: A 27-Year Fishing Journey

I started fishing 27 years ago in Bulgaria, targeting F1, roach, and perch on local waters. Fifteen years ago, I moved to the UK and discovered British carp fishing—a completely different discipline that required learning from scratch.

Based in Suffolk, I work on farms and fish club waters with my wife and two sons. My personal best is 36lb 9oz, but this book isn't about trophy fish or sponsored gear. It's about the knowledge I wish I'd had when starting out on British waters.

After decades of watching beginners waste money on unnecessary tackle and struggling with advice that doesn't match UK conditions, I wrote the guide I needed as a beginner: honest, practical, and tested on the waters you'll actually fish.

This isn't about becoming a celebrity angler or chasing sponsorships. It's about helping beginners understand carp fishing properly—the way I had to learn it, through experience, mistakes, and eventually, success.
