VENTSE
A genuine guide from someone who learned British carp fishing from scratch
No sponsored products. No tackle advertising. Just honest guidance on understanding fish behaviour and watercraft that actually catches carp.
Tested on British waters from Kent to Suffolk. Covers tactics that work on UK lakes, rivers, and reservoirs—not American bass fishing translated.
27 years from Bulgarian coarse fishing to British carp specialist. Written by someone who remembers being a beginner and learned from mistakes.
Understanding behaviour, metabolism, and seasonal patterns that dictate where fish are and when they feed.
What you actually need vs. what tackle shops want to sell you. Budget-conscious recommendations tested over decades.
Step-by-step instructions for carp fishing's most essential technique. Learn why it works, not just how to tie it.
Reading water, understanding weather patterns, feature finding, and location strategies that put you on fish consistently.
From pre-session preparation through post-session reflection. Transform random casting into strategic fishing.
"Knowledge beats equipment. Understanding beats guessing. Watercraft beats luck. This book teaches all three."
From Bulgaria to Britain: A 27-Year Fishing Journey
I started fishing 27 years ago in Bulgaria, targeting F1, roach, and perch on local waters. Fifteen years ago, I moved to the UK and discovered British carp fishing—a completely different discipline that required learning from scratch.
Based in Suffolk, I work on farms and fish club waters with my wife and two sons. My personal best is 36lb 9oz, but this book isn't about trophy fish or sponsored gear. It's about the knowledge I wish I'd had when starting out on British waters.
After decades of watching beginners waste money on unnecessary tackle and struggling with advice that doesn't match UK conditions, I wrote the guide I needed as a beginner: honest, practical, and tested on the waters you'll actually fish.
